The key to keeping those New Year's resolutions is making them realistic, and making yourself accountable. So I'm publishing my resolutions for 2019 here:
- Produce an average of 300 words a day. This doesn't mean I'm going to write every day, just that if I add up what I've written at the end of the week it should come out as at least 300 words per day. I've found that even when I really don't feel like writing, I can generally manage that much.
- Finish the manuscript I started for NaNoWriMo 2018. By finished I mean get it to the third draft stage, where it's suitable for other people to look at it.
- And finally, try to do a bit more of the social media, "build your author platform" side of things that everyone tells me is important. I'm still dubious about that, but blogging counts towards my daily word count.
Well, that's me. What are your 2019 writing resolutions?
